Terry has been in the financial services industry since 1995 when First Benefits Group, Inc. was formed. He serves as the managing agent for the firm. He is also a financial Author, Educator, Speaker, and Consultant.
Terry believes in educating his clients on financial matters so they may make informed decisions. He is a student and former national trainer with the “Circle of Wealth” planning system.
Terry provides free educational seminars for retiring individuals on Social Security and Medicare. His seminars are accredited by the FICPA for continuing education credit for Florida CPAs.
In 2007 Terry consulted with Sarasota Memorial Hospital on developing the Charter Health Plan. The plan was underwritten and endorsed by the hospital for small businesses in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. First Benefits Group Inc was awarded the Managing General Agency contract for the Charter Health Plan. The plan remained in force until the Affordable Care Act was enacted into law.
Terry graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Marketing. He maintains Life, Health and Annuities licenses and is a former trustee of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and the National Association for Fixed Annuities (NAFA). Terry resides in Sarasota, Florida.
BJ has over 30 years combined experience in construction, real estate and real estate development, insurance and mortgage brokerage businesses. BJ holds the following Florida Professional licenses: Certified General Contractor, Realtor/Salesman, Life/Health and Variable Annuity and Mortgage Broker.
BJ co-founded First Benefits Group, Inc. in 1995 and BJ Mangrum Builder in 1979. She earned the designation Certified Liability Advisor (CLA) and is a faculty member of The National Institute of Financial Education. She is also a member of Circle of Wealth/Money Trax.
BJ is a Financial Educator dedicated to providing clarity, focus, balance and confidence when her clients buy, sell or refinance real estate. She seeks to maximize her clients’ wealth through the management of their liabilities. The end result is liquidity, use and control of their money. She teaches her clients to effectively use a mortgage as a tool to build financial stability and to leverage government tax incentives which reduce the cost of home ownership.

I have committed to the highest level of education and credentials in the industry. Most recently I completed a 12-hour CE program, “Ed Slott and Company, LLC two-day IRA Workshop.” I am also Medicare Certified and have written over 1000 Medicare plans. I was recently recognized by the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace with the “2022 Marketplace Circle of Champions” award.
I am a past president of the Gulf Coast Health Underwriters (GCHU), as well as a current member of various service organizations relating to the needs of Seniors in the community. I most recently became a member of the Sarasota-Manatee Human Resources Association (SHRA).
I graduated from the Ohio State University College of Dental Hygiene. My background in Health Science has helped me to be more understanding of client’s unique needs. My business approach is to treat each client as if they were a family member, while providing them with the utmost professional service.
Thomas joined First Benefits Group Inc in fall 2019 as an administrative assistant. After working in the insurance industry for a year he decided to acquire his Health, Life, and Annuities license in the state of Florida. He became certified in 2020 to write subsidized health insurance on the healthcare.gov marketplace (FFM), off market ACA compliant health insurance, and supporting products. Thomas became Medicare certified in 2021 enabling him to write Medicare supplement policies, Medicare Advantage Plans, and Rx drug plans (Part D).
Prior to joining First Benefits Group Inc Thomas was employed in industry, most recently in Bradenton manufacturing fire trucks, ambulances, and support trucks for various civil, government, and military applications. In 21 years of CNC manufacturing experience, he became educated in a variety of technical aspects. In 2012 he completed a BA in Business with the University of Phoenix. In 2019 Thomas completed courses in business and accounting at Suncoast Technical College of Sarasota, FL.
Thomas is looking forward to a career in the insurance industry. His experience with high pressure manufacturing for critical equipment makes him a good fit with the ever-changing world of insurance and finance.
