Terrance J. O'Brien
Terry has been in the financial services industry since 1995 when First Benefits Group, Inc. was formed. He serves as the managing agent for the firm. He is also a financial Author, Educator, Speaker, and Consultant.
Terry believes in educating his clients on financial matters so they may make informed decisions. He is a student and former national trainer with the “Circle of Wealth” planning system.
Terry provides free educational seminars for retiring individuals on Social Security and Medicare. His seminars are accredited by the FICPA for continuing education credit for Florida CPAs.
In 2016 Terry initiated the Pioneer Health Plan, a private label, proprietary, referenced based pricing health plan for employers with more than 25 employees. The plan is marketed nationwide.
Terry graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Marketing. He maintains Life, Health and Annuities licenses and is a member of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and the National Association for Fixed Annuities (NAFA). Terry resides in Sarasota, Florida.
Frances has been in the insurance industry for 17 years and joined First Benefits Group, Inc. in 2010 as an independent agent. Her goal is to assist individuals in selecting the insurance plan that best meets the clients unique needs. She does this by carefully listening to her clients. She takes the time to educate them so they will understand what they purchased and how it will be of benefit to them.
Fran was recently quoted in an article pertaining to Medicare in the October 2016 issue of the Sarasota Herald Tribune. Fran explained the difference between original Medicare and Medicare Plans. She has also published articles in Contemporary Dental Hygiene and Gulf Coast Living Magazine. She contributes to the seminars offered by First Benefits Group, Inc. The seminars are given at the office and cover such topics as: Medicare, Social Security and Planning for the Cost of Long Term Care.
Fran graduated from the Ohio State University College of Dental Hygiene. She maintains a Florida Dental Hygiene License as well as a state of Florida Insurance License. She is the current president (2016-2017) of Gulf Coast Health Underwriters, a component of the National Association of Health Underwriters. She is also a member of Sarasota County Aging Network and attends other similar community network venues.
Barbara Jo (BJ) Mangrum
BJ has over 30 years combined experience in construction, real estate and real estate development, insurance and mortgage brokerage businesses. BJ holds the following Florida Professional licenses: Certified General Contractor, Realtor/Salesman, Life/Health and Variable Annuity and Mortgage Broker.
BJ co-founded First Benefits Group, Inc. in 1995 and BJ Mangrum Builder in 1979. She earned the designation Certified Liability Advisor (CLA) and is a faculty member of The National Institute of Financial Education. She is also a member of Circle of Wealth/Money Trax.
BJ is a Financial Educator dedicated to providing clarity, focus, balance and confidence when her clients buy, sell or refinance real estate. She seeks to maximize her clients' wealth through the management of their liabilities. The end result is liquidity, use and control of their money. She teaches her clients to effectively use a mortgage as a tool to build financial stability and to leverage government tax incentives which reduce the cost of home ownership.

During his 30 years in health care financial management Gary Hickerson has developed and managed health care provider networks and provider sponsored insurance plans. Gary has been recognized for developing successful partnerships between providers, insurers and employers. These partnerships have improved health care quality and reduced unnecessary cost. Gary is a certified Government Subsidized Health Insurance Agent.
Gary has a master of business administration degree from the University of Dayton. He is a licensed life and health insurance agent and maintains memberships in the National Association of Health Underwriters. Gary is also a Senior Consultant for R & L Healthcare Advisors, Vice Chair of the Holmes Beach Planning Commission, Treasurer of the Healthy Teens Coalition of Manatee County, and an American Council on Gift Annuities sponsor.

Todd Hall is a Certified Finance Consultant. He specializes in tailoring group benefits for companies and the business owners/key executives in both Florida and Virginia. He started in the insurance industry in 1992 with Virginia Farm Bureau where, in 1993 he was named Rookie of the Year, and in 1996 agent of the Year. Prior to moving to Florida, Todd started an independent insurance agency. Todd studied business at Lord Fairfax Community College and attended the Community College of the Air Force. He served in the US Air Force and Air National Guard for 10 years.
Sandy graduated from Rider College in Lawrenceville, NJ with an Associate of Arts Degree in Secretarial Studies. She minored in fine arts. In her career she has utilized both her administrative and creative talents.
Sandy's work history includes 10 years in the newspaper, advertising agency and event planning businesses, 14 years with local law firms, and 15 years in the financial services industry.
